If you want to grow as an individual contributor, this isn't the right place. It seems career progression requires becoming a people manager, which isn't the right fit for everyone. Also, Pluralsight grows through acquiring other companies, and the integration of the acquisitions hasn't been smooth.

I have done extensive research into pay for positions like mine, and the total comp is below the bottom of the pay range. I can go elsewhere and make 20 to 40 percent more.

Management needs to engage an outside provider to interview employees anonymously. People have a lot of input but it's not being heard. Employees don't trust the employee engagement survey to be anonymous, so many don't feel comfortable completing it.

I don't like the leadership structure. It's very much a "top-down" approach where leaders make decisions without adequately involving those closest to the work and to the customers. Leadership is disconnected from the "rank and file" and isn't seeking input from people who are leaving.

Don't try to stuff a candidate into a role. Really listen to what the candidate enjoys doing and is good at. If it's a fit with your need, great. If it's not, either adjust the position to fit the candidate, or don't hire the person.
