What's the Operations team like at LCRA?
Under current of negativity but out going face of agreement. Long timers keep to themselves.
How's the leadership on the Operations team at LCRA?
Supply management has a VP going in one direction and a director in another direction. VP appears progressive but this stops there.
How do I do well in an interview at LCRA?
It is a typical process and interview expectations
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at LCRA?
Good except for an internal role interview that was just a show and the supervisor’s texting friend still hired above several more qualified candidates. HR participated in the fake process and really showed how sneaky they can be

Always the question about what are your weaknesses

Procurement standard set questions. How would you handle?
What does the ideal candidate in the Operations department look like at LCRA?
Years of experience. Appearance of being a person who would comply to standards and not push status quo. Overall sweet natured people. Ends up being a plus for the management team.
What Operations department questions did LCRA ask during your job interview?
Mostly procurement scenarios.
How helpful was your Operations team when you were first hired at LCRA?
Ops being the Supply management team. Supervisor did not provide any on boarding program. After years of new hires asking for help, people leaving, the director is finally tasking supervisors to provide new hire mentors. A lot of turnover really pushed any program by the current director. Sad to see so many quality people leave.
What's the work from home policy like at LCRA?
Poor. Per division. Managers with pessimistic attitudes won’t allow WFH while other depts on a regular basis. The policy is unfair.

Seems fine. Many interns come noticeably from the general manager’s connections.
How does LCRA handle HR issues?

How innovative is LCRA?
Fair. Slow to change. A few grant funded areas have funds to be innovative.

Savings. Dollars. Numbers.

Skills specific to your role. Succeeding is political and not based on best qualified. You just have to know the right people or be pals with the hiring manager
How are layoffs handled in the Operations department at LCRA?
Typical. No warning. Lots of rumors first. Management at all levels does not discuss outcome openly.
