We're a not-for-profit organization. Good salary, decent benefits, coverage could improve but benefits start on day 1 of employment. Not many companies offer that.

I have health insurance but for all their talk about wanting to provide for their employees, they sure don't put any extra effort obtaining better healthcare packages.

My quality work and decades of experience should have been worth more than I was making. I could barely afford groceries after rent let alone other bills. I had to hold two other side jobs in order to get by. "Merit" raises were pennies each year, which didn't speak much to how they saw my worth.

I work in the Lab. We get paid the very minimum or even below industry standard. we do as much schooling as nurses and get paid less than 1/2 their pay in some cases here. It leaves people feeling underappreciated and overworked.

On average, a nurse with the same education and experience as mine that works at the University of Michigan hospital, earns almost $9.00 an hour more and has a retirement package that blows mine out of the water! In addition, their PT0 (personal time off) is also more generous. Why? Union.
