Clear vision, innovative and competitive, and they actually care about employees. Values are not just lip service.
Tough to pick one thing. The people. The mission. The fast pace. The ability to make a difference and not be micro-managed.
I'm mid-level management and for the past several years have received stock awards, which are not contractual obligations- it's just something Stryker does as an added benefit. Also 15 consecutive years of a very nice discretionary contribution to our 401k (on TOP of the match).
Our mission. We're all working together to make healthcare better, to save and improve lives. It doesn't get better than that. Combined with a culture that cares about people and winning the right way, it feels like Stryker is "special"... and it does feel special to work here.
Positive and negative is that it's hard to get into Stryker. You may have to interview multiple times with multiple people/groups. There's also a structured personality interview with a rep from Gallup. They care about getting the right talent, so they do put you through the ringer a bit.
Talent. It makes such a difference to work with high quality people who want to win and do a good job. Lazy people, people who stir up drama are a cancer to the workplace. Stryker just seems to have far less of these type of people. I have fun w/ the people I work with.
