Q&A With Volkswagen Employees

Most CEOs they bring in here are only here to hit numbers. Our current CEO, Tom, seems to be a bit more concerned with his actual employees and company morale.

I do not hear much talk about the CEO.

There needs to be more consistency with policy and expectations. They also need a better training process.

Stressful.

Everyone is pretty self directed.

You can hear a pin drop.

The cafeteria is really good.

Health, Vision, Dental, etc. It is pretty expensive compared to other jobs I've had.

It is pretty good outside of the PTO policy.

They promote the people that they like. It is not based on numbers or goals.

Contract employees get 13 days of PTO for the year which includes holidays so if you take out the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day) that leaves you with 6 days for the year. There is no sick pay.

My co-workers in general and the ability to turn customer's negative experiences around.

Feedback is sporadic and subjective.

Not difficult at all.

They are very fun.

Since Volkswagen brand is also associated with high level luxury brands I think they are secure.

There is a sense of anxiety associated with going in to work every day.

People who are willing to do whatever necessary to succeed, those who prefer to work independently and befriend management.

Research the company and incorporate the characteristics of the role into your interview answers.

No contract employee should feel secure.

Very high paced at all times.

Direct employees get to lease a new vehicle every 6 months and do not have to pay for insurance as they are covered under a fleet insurance policy.

Open air. Low cubicles.

Very little. Especially amongst higher level employees. Once you get past the team leader role you do not see much diversity.

So-so, it depends on the department.
