What do people at Volkswagen think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Most CEOs they bring in here are only here to hit numbers. Our current CEO, Tom, seems to be a bit more concerned with his actual employees and company morale.
I do not hear much talk about the CEO.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Volkswagen?
There needs to be more consistency with policy and expectations. They also need a better training process.

Everyone is pretty self directed.

The cafeteria is really good.

Health, Vision, Dental, etc. It is pretty expensive compared to other jobs I've had.
How's the work life balance at Volkswagen?
It is pretty good outside of the PTO policy.
How does Volkswagen make decisions around promotions?
They promote the people that they like. It is not based on numbers or goals.
How's the vacation policy at Volkswagen?
Contract employees get 13 days of PTO for the year which includes holidays so if you take out the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day) that leaves you with 6 days for the year. There is no sick pay.
What's the best part of your job at Volkswagen?
My co-workers in general and the ability to turn customer's negative experiences around.

Very high paced at all times.

Direct employees get to lease a new vehicle every 6 months and do not have to pay for insurance as they are covered under a fleet insurance policy.
What's the office layout like at Volkswagen?
Open air. Low cubicles.
How much diversity is there among employees at Volkswagen?
Very little. Especially amongst higher level employees. Once you get past the team leader role you do not see much diversity.
