Does Nissan drug test or do a background check?
How about a know con artist being hired at the Nissan location in Irving Texas being able to get past your background check but was recently released from parole in 2018?
Yes, there is a drug test and a background check that goes about 7 years back. So if you had an arrest for something drug related or vehicle related dating farther than 7 years you may get passed that check point. As for the random drug screening, you are on your own.
Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from Nissan?
I was interviewed by the Service Manager as I was applying for a service position. I would say I was called that same afternoon given my 24 hr. notice to supply a urinalysis sample at a given location.
My interview was with Chad and then Andrew. They told me on the spot I was hired.
How do you feel about going to work at Nissan everyday?

Like I’m walking the plank. I could fall and get eaten by the sharks or I could get lucky and those same sharks have eaten already today and get by with minor scrapes.

Not very secure at all. It’s either feast or famine in this industry.

Nissan as a brand will always be around. What is holding back the dealership I currently work for is upper management and leaders inside their respective areas.

Slow in the winter and fast in the summer.

Honestly can’t think of anything unique.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Nissan?
That the real life glass ceiling is a lot lower that once believed.
How's the morale at Nissan?
Right now it low to be honest. Work flow slows down and paychecks also dwindle.
How much diversity is there among employees at Nissan?
A mass variety. I don’t think race or gender is or has been an issue at this dealership.
What's the office layout like at Nissan?
Not very impressive, fishbowl like. Everyone can see you are in there they just don’t know why yet.
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Nissan?
Pleasant.
How long do the interviews usually take at Nissan?
Not very long. If they like you the longer the better. They want to know where they could put you and how long you will invest with them. If it’s short, it doesn’t necessarily mean “bad”, just means that it could only be one area open and you fit or don’t.
How do I do well in an interview at Nissan?
Be honest, be yourself and let your character and integrity show. Nissan is about their customers, so if you show compassion and honesty, willingness to take responsibility for yourself, it is safe to say you would not let a customer leave in an unsafe vehicle.

A breeze compared to other notable companies I’ve interviewed with.
What was the most difficult question that was asked during your interview at Nissan?
Can you keep up with the work demand of being on your feet 8 hours a day lifting heavy objects continuously?
What should I wear for an interview at Nissan?
Again depending on what position you are seeking. I always say dress the part. If you’re going for sales, look sharp and trustworthy. Service technician, clean and presentable, but not afraid to get his hands dirty.
In your opinion, what are the most common interview questions that Nissan asks?
Have you done this type of work before? Do you have trouble working and/or communicating with others?
How flexible is your work schedule at Nissan?
Depending on what position you are placed in it could vary. But, I must say this, the shop foreman who does the scheduling will work with you and give you an opportunity to give some type of feedback where warranted.
How does Nissan handle HR issues?
Sparingly.... is the word I would use. There have been some things I’ve seen that were definitely handled wrongly. I can’t say for certain that it was HR’s call or inside shop management, but definitely some issues need to be looked into better and with a proper laid out system.
How innovative is Nissan?
The technology is amazing. They have so many client options and features to the new and upcoming vehicles. Innovative to say the least!
