There were times that I could rely on teammates, while some coworkers were not organized or reliable. Those that I could rely on were organized and devoted to helping the organization successfully grow and flourish.
Seeing the students' faces when they arrive at the program makes employees feel that their efforts were worth it.
The interview was very typical, but applicants were also tasked with creating a recruitment plan that the organization could use to recruit students. The interviews were good, but what I was told during the interviews about my job, hours, etc. were drastically different from reality.
Valuing employees and their time and effort. The leadership team also needs to be more professional with how they treat their employees (i.e. don't talk about coworkers behind their backs, eye roll, etc.). Leadership needs to take a look at equity among pay, staff time, etc.
For the amount of time that employees work, they are not paid enough, which could explain part of why there is such high turnover in the organization. Leadership also does not acknowledge employee's success and were not always professional in their treatment of employees.
WBW can be improved by having Board Members that are involved and devoted to the organization, having an Executive Director that cares about their employees and values and treats them professionally, and providing employees incentives for their hard work (i.e. bonus, international travel, etc.).
