Excellent customer service. Have been a customer of BOW for nearly 30 years. There is a lady at your St. Helens, Oregon branch that goes way above and beyond helping me with my banking needs. I don't know her last name but first name is Lacey. She is the reason I am still a customer of BOW.

Lot of negative vibes - promotions, career growth opportunities are limited and meaningful pay hikes are rare.

They need a better leader to run the institution
Very poor - but that could be because of the nature of business - moving jobs to Phoenix (away from Mgmt which plans to be in SF) and changes in business due to BNPP
What is the PTO policy at Bank of the West?
PTO is earned on a day-by-day basis; vested PTO days cannot be forfeited; the number of earned and accrued PTO days is not capped; and if an employee has earned and accrued PTO days that have not been used at the time the employment relationship ends, the employee is paid for these days.

Very little. People are fired at a regular rate.

Why would you want to?! They just want a body. Lots of turnovers and letting good people go.

How does Bank of the West make decisions around promotions?
No particular way. People who should be promoted don’t get any and some get to be on fast track. Seems like it depends who in the upper management takes a liking to you. There is heavy attrition at senior analyst level due to this.
They are not promoting right now. Or only in very special circumstances.
How's the vacation policy at Bank of the West?
VPs get 4 weeks and SVPs get unlimited. AVPs get 2 weeks I think.
Full timers get 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks for officers or over 5 yrs service.
Does Bank of the West have any remote positions?
San Ramon itself is remote. But new Phoenix location is being setup. Also, work from home seems to be a possibility for certain teams.
One or two days/week working from home is fairly common. Entirely remote is a very special circumstance. The one example I know of was a woman who wanted to retire and move out of state. They needed her expertise for several more months and asked her to work from her retirement location for the duration.

Used to be interviewed by the entire group but lately it is only managers who interview candidates.
