Nothing related to the job. They are only looking for a body as there is alot of turnover. Not at all what I signed up for

Nothing...worst environment ever!!

Very difficult. Work location makes it impossible for people to hang out outside of work. Team bonding is rarely encouraged.

Plenty of quality of work but no reward for doing it

Career guidance or formal structure of guidance/path

Very bad - transition to Tempe and lack of proximity to senior managers who sit in SF location

Plenty is diversity at analyst level but predominately Caucasian male at manager level

Part cubes and part desks
What's the pay like for Finance roles at Bank of the West?
Terrible. Pay hike barely exists. External hires can get a good pay but then annual increases are lower than inflation

Not even worth mentioning - managers don't inspire anyone. They don't provide feedback post-meetings

Constant transition and no focus on team development. Only way to get management attention is to threaten to quit.

Toxic - underpaid and overworked analysts; without any career guidance or plans. Insecure managers who hoard all information and don't develop the team. All senior positions are held by BNPP expats.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Bank of the West?
Let them finish their current round of reorg and get a handle on who they want to be. Should get much better in a year or so.
