Chipotle has seen a retention rate of 3.5x higher among students who are enrolled in Cultivate Education, and crew members using the benefit are 7.5x more likely to move into a management role within the organization.

What are some of the ways that you foster growth among your employees?

At Chipotle, crew members can advance to a Restaurateur in 3.5 years, making an average salary of $100,000 and leading a multi-million-dollar business. Additionally, Chipotle tied ESG goals to executive compensation which includes maintaining both racial and gender pay equity as well as implementing a program to accelerate the development of Chipotle’s diverse field organization and support center employees for promotion to above restaurant and next-level roles.

At Adobe, learning provides an opportunity for employees to better unlock potential, uncover new skills, and communicate with each other to move the company forward. We foster development and connection opportunities through Employee Networks, leadership cohorts, shadow programs, and more. Our focus on learning has led to more engaged employees, which has driven 30% of our new positions to be filled internally.

We encourage employees to learn by allowing them to learn when and where they want. We’ve focused on removing barriers to learning, and we offer “curation as a service,” where employees can request a customized curriculum based on their career objectives and learning preferences. Through Adobe’s Learning Fund program, we offer employees $10,000 USD per calendar year to pursue academic degrees, top credential programs, advanced specializations, and technical certifications, and $1,000 USD per calendar year for short-term learning opportunities. Managers and employees at Noblis consider growth goals during the annual goal-setting process. To meet those needs, Noblis provides experiential and traditional learning opportunities. Our technical training and development span both, with training cohorts for Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Cyber that are matched to projects or research opportunities. In addition to technical training, Noblis prepares its leaders leveraging online and instructor-led training.

Actively supporting and driving our employees’ professional growth, aligns their long-term career goals with our business strategy. We regularly update our program based on employee feedback. As a result, our employees don’t just work for WilsonHCG; they’re hands-on contributors and leaders who foster a genuine, transparent culture that makes them proud. In 2021, we made a lot of internal promotions and increased investment in our L&D program to allow for career progression. We also enhanced our employee referral program, which resulted in an 82% offer acceptance rate among those referred.

What are some of the ways that you foster growth among your employees?

We’re committed to finding the most passionate people, then helping them develop both personally and professionally through multiple initiatives. Once they’re with us, we communicate all formal openings internally, as this opens employees up to the possibility of a move within the business. In the past year, our employees completed a variety of Learning & Development (L&D) courses via our learning management platforms to further their career development. All new hires go through a comprehensive training program followed by our 90=1 program where we implement learning within their day-to-day workflows. We also have an educational global internship program offering real-world experience for college students and recent college graduates to enhance their skills and discover their ideal career paths. We continually develop internal mobility through an achievement pillar program that aligns to our DNA pillars (created by our people) which are collaboration, ownership, integrity, communication, and passion. We host an internal career fair twice a year where each department conducts a session covering their area of the business and its impacts. They highlight potential career paths and open roles while also helping our employees to collaborate across departments. We also implemented a new initiative, GIG offerings, which allows teams to advertise different projects to the wider businesses for employees wanting to gain experience in a different area of the company via stretch projects. We foster growth, communication, and support through several employees belonging groups and we have a comprehensive veteran transition program to assist veterans and their spouses, along with a global peer mentor program.

The goal of our talent strategy is to cultivate growth internally and promote from within. Regardless of current challenges with the employment market, we’ve always believed that developing our employees is key to securing our future. Bell fosters employee growth through our development programs and plans, coaching, open-enrollment courses, and mentorship. We invest in our top talent through nomination programs targeting selected emerging leaders, managers, and high potential employees. Nearly all of Bell’s leadership positions go through validated succession planning to create development plans for skill gaps, and we have certified coaches who guide our leaders to reach better business solutions. In addition, employees are able and encouraged to drive their own development through open-enrollment courses offered by our in-house facilitators and through participation in our cross-functional mentorship program.

Employees engage in weekly one-on-one sessions with their managers to check in on progress, address any concerns and provide any extra coaching. nCino also offers resources such as writing certifications, conflict and situational adaptability training, and work/life balance workshops. nCino University, our online learning platform, houses hundreds of modules, ranging from the basics of retail banking to considering unconscious bias in the workplace.
