The pandemic really made Ocrolus rethink which benefits actually make a difference to our employees’ lives. We realized that many of our employees were feeling a lot more stressed and anxious, leading us to institute Ocrolus Appreciation day. Every month, we give our employees the last Friday off as a sign of our appreciation and as encouragement for them to take a little more time for themselves, whether that be running a couple of errands or just taking some time to recharge. Best of all we haven’t noticed any major type of productivity change; instead people seem more motivated and efficient. In addition, we’ve started catering lunch everyday to the office, and encouraging employees to take a break and eat together. This has helped foster our sense of community and appreciation as well.
