    Top Employee Response

Have worked for younger bosses on more than one occasion, have no problem at all, almost prefer it as they are more open to new ideas & getting things done in newer, faster & more efficient ways without feeling threatened.

    100% fine and submissive

It would probably prejudice me to be worried about how s/he would treat me, but ultimately it's performance -- not age -- that matters.

I have no issues with working with anyone of any age.

Not a problem as long as I don’t have to train them first.

It is common to work for people in positions of authority who are actually younger than you. Get used to it. With the current trends in technology, do not be surprised if you work for a boss who is not only younger, but also less experienced at his role in management, logistics, personnel and certainly in the products you may represent.

I have. Its not a big deal. We are all grown ups and we act like it.

No problem if the boss is qualified properly. It is an excellent opportunity to practice reverse mentoring

Age of the employer/supervisor ranks far down on the list of factors which determine how effective they are as a manager/administrator.

Ok, provided he has the experience and maturity to lead a team.

Age has no relevance, whether I trusted them to know what they are doing, does.

I am fine with it, as long as they are capable in their position.

I honestly wouldn't care who I work for as long as they know what they're doing and they can make sure I know what I'm doing.

As long as they are competent, qualified, experienced, and lead by example. Did I mention competent?

Perfectly fine as long as the boss no matter how young or old as long as they can mentor and lead you so you can grow

I wouldn’t companies that immediately put young people in leadership positions are doomed

No. I have and they always think that they know more. Experience trumps GPA, everytime.

Depends on the experience level. A younger boss that can teach me or has the same level of experience I can work with. A younger boss without experience or has moved up the ladder because of who they know or because of their youthfulness is a leader hard to follow

The age of my boss is irrelevant as long as they are a good leader. I'm willing to support and help a new leader rise up to the challenge.

It does not have any effect on my job, as I am still offered many opportunities for learning from my younger boss.

I think that the younger generation has stepped up from the shadows and are giving it all they have. Give them a chance, they might surprise you.

If they have the skill set and are fair and have good judgement then the age would not matter

This hasn't happened to me yet but just like a boss who's older than I am, as long as I feel they're qualified to do the job and treat me with respect, I wouldn't care.

Not sure if this means a younger boss than I have or a boss younger than I am .... but I tend to respect older individuals more, which I know is my bias. I am drawn towards people with years under the belt and wisdom.

not a problem if the boss shows respect and that I can learn from her

It would be fine as long as they don't let the seniority go to their head and make them feel more important than their employees

I'm doing that now :) with no issues. As long as the boss is competent, I don't care about age/sex/religion/etc.

I am 23 years old and would not work for someone younger than myself, and would rather not work for someone with less than 5 years more experience than myself.

If they are also more qualified, I would want to know how. If there were less qualified, I would either work on mentoring it replacement. (This also applied to working for an older boss)

I have no problem working for any age boss as long as they know what they are doing and respect my contribution.
