Four-day work week made up of 10-hour days would not affect the productivity
For some it could help them to be more productive, others might get stressed. That should be an option not a must.
people would be too tired during the ten hour shift
Employees will become more fatigued on a regular basis. Production drops
People would feel like they work Overtime without getting paid for it. 10 hour days all the time would make people more tired production would drop
other than people maybe getting too tired i don't think would affect it
No, it's taxing too much from work force to work continuously for 10 hours it will rather reduce the productivity.
Actually I think it would be better. Humans benefit from continuous down time. 3 continuous days off allows the body and mind to actually rest and recuperate. 10 hours in a single day means our minds are still active and aware for the extra two hours as we've been using them.
It depends on the person and the situation. I can flex my hours, and I have come to rely on flexible hours.
Wouldn't work for Real Estate
Increase job satisfaction, but decrease client satisfaction (due to lesser availability).
Depends on the type of work you do. -- If it's customer service, my gut feeling is that it could make a negative impact -- if it's something that requires a lot of thought and through-put (e.g. software development, car repair, etc.) it could have a good impact. (e.g. if you're allowed to be "in the zone" where you are most productive for longer). -- Fewer daily interruptions and longer periods of working on the same task will usually help with productivity. -- Having to switch focuses a lot, or having a lot of interruptions (meetings, etc.) can have a huge negative impact. -- Ultimately though, it's going to be different for every person and you should be open to giving them a chance to work the way they want to work (if it's not detrimental to your business model) -- you can graph their progress over time, and if there is a positive (or even no impact) but they are happier, then that's better for you. -- If there's a negative impact or they're not happier, then you should dig deeper.
In a positive way! Three days off would really help to recharge the employees
Already have four day work week of 10-12 hours per day depending on department.
Would get more done ... continued focus.
I think it’s better and gives employee more time to recover well for the next shift
From personal experience it makes me work harder because I know my work week is only 4 days
We offer this option for some of our staff. It has not affected productivity, however, it was a big boost to employee satisfaction.
I don't know. I've done both and prefer an 8-hour day, 5 days a week.
I think it would increase productivity.
I'd give it a shot and see if it works. Doesn't hurt to try.
Depends on how many shifts. There has to be an over lap of shifts to handle the leftover work load.
I think it would increase productivity a lot because people would be driven to work harder in order to enjoy a 3 day weekend every week!!! Please, lets make this happen!!!
It would be outstanding, since many workers put in a ten-hour day anyway.
will increase productivity two folds
