    Don't know, if people are happy with their position & responsibilities and don't want more or something different, good for them for finding something they enjoy or are happy with. I don't know why they would be looked down on.

    Workers who don't care about being promoted are falsely stereotyped as slackers or buttsliders.

    They are not looked down upon in my department.

    They’re looked at as lazy but what if they have multiple responsibilities that the company doesn’t see while off the clock?

    Because everyone puts their views on others---no one believe the 'walk in my shoes' adage to have understanding of those who don't want to 'go up the ladder'

    Probably because they are perceived as lacking ambition, drive and probably lacking will to improve or succeed

    People assume they are not ambitious enough to care. However, our company doesn't look at people that way, so I don't think you can make a blanket statement like this.
