discipline; environment is very important for productivity and home environment isn't meant for working. Unless you have a home office - special room where you only work, but even then you are missing the commute time where you warm up for work day or cool down from it.

Working in an office gives a professional appearance to and a less than fly by night opinion to most customers but working from home allows the worker to feel freer to be themselves when working.

Working in office: Getting things done quicker and able to communicate face to face with others. Home: Save time on gas, getting ready, and working at my own pace.

Community. Face to face natural conversations with supervisors and coworkers build the foundations for strong working relationships. You know who you can turn to, who you can count on when the chips are down.

Homeoffice provide confort, more time in a day, but the people contact is the bad thing. Homeoffice has some expenses that in a office, the estructure already has, like energy, internet service, etc.

Office is more social and less distractions at times. At home is more comfortable and as long as the work is being done on time, you can work at a little more of your pace.

An office provides structure and socialization where working from home is unstructured and alone. I think the benefits lie where the work output is solid and there are no inherent problems or issues with attendance, or availability.

Pluses and minuses. At home there's "No connection" to the "day to day" flow of the workplace, you may feel that you are way outta touch when you pop into your workplace.

If you work in an office, you have more face to face time with people. You can build better relationships. On the other hand, you can be disturbed and distracted by a million things and people in the office. When you work from home, you don't have to deal with the time, cost, or frustrations of commuting. I've only put 6,000 miles on my car in the last 18 months. If you can manage to stay focused, it's much easier to put in your 8 hours of work and be done. If you can stay focused, you'll be much more productive in those 8 hours than you would be in 10 at the office. The question of whether or not you can stay focused really falls entirely on you, though.
