When you are performing at the top of your work class
After a year and you've completed a few exceptional agenda items.
At the time of compliments and at time of reviews
When you have consistently achieved important goals but it is supppsed you shouldn’t need to do it if your company has the right professional development programs set as part of his philosophy
When business is doing good and it’s your annual review.
when you are bringing in many closed accounts and you are hearing nothing including no raise
When you put your 2 week notice.
Anytime before the upcoming Holidays, (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
Within a couple of weeks after a performance review if a race is not given or when a job offer with a higher pay rate has been offered to you or whenever you have just been given kudos for dealing with a really difficult project and getting it completed successfully
When you want it and can justify it.
It depends on how aggressive you are. You have to write down what you've done, check around how much people are paid for the same job, and know if there's a better company elsewhere who's willing to get you, those and other factors.
When you're ready to depart otherwise
When you have proven your worth more than what they pay you.
After a big project has been marked as a success and you are starting the next one.
