    No, you cannot control an extended sickness. Employers should find means to accommodate.

    Not if you get a doctor to write out the documentation for the Family Medical Leave Act in short (FMLA)

    It very much depends on the specifics of the situation - some companies will only do what they are legally obligated to do in terms of allowing you to use your FMLA, etc.; others will go above and beyond to help you out. Your relationship with the company counts too - some companies will go to extraordinary lengths to hold on to superstar employees (or long-time employees, or just well-liked employees) but might not do the same for everyone.

    Depends. Research FMLA, family medical leave act. I’m not sure what size companies it applies to though. Hope this helps

    No, the government has a program (FMLA) that protects your job if you or a family member are sick for up to 90 days or so. Your company does not have to pay you during this time, but they cannot fire you.
