No open space, no activity based workstations. Nice 2-4 offices, a lot of meeting rooms.
There aren’t. This is a capitalist society. Business doesn’t care about being humane they care about making money.
Eliminate the bully. Understand the concept of work/life balance. Eliminate entitlement thinking.
A leadership team that is focused on employees and sees them as assets as opposed to a commodity.
Find the positives where you can. If you need to, take a walk and cool off. Treat lunch as sacred - enjoy your time with nice people.
Not that they aren't already humane, but Accountability Agreements might result in more people-centered work environments. "Gotcha" process traps seem to allow inhumane loopholes. Expectations in action often provide unspoken team parameters that could be less empathetic.
Odd question. This implies all employers treat employees as animals or a number. If that is the case, they should just stop doing that.
Top down models never work. They come institutions of slavery and prevent innovation. Processes which aren’t defined by behaviors fail. People who don’t know how to define rigid process shouldn’t be doing it, but no company is good at this because they don’t like people trying to change it.
Constant cleanliness at the office (have a janitor), and flexibility with time off.
