"Just like me" mindset seems to create an opportunity for acceptable bias, and different fit could offer a long-term competitive advantage. "You can do this job, but we don't believe you're a good culture fit." doesn't appear to provide room for growth.
If a company has a good 'people culture', then it can be a GREAT place to work. If you don't "fit" the culture, you will probably not be chosen for that company.
It is easier to achieve synergy within the group.
You spend most of your day at work at least 5 days a week. If you are miserable at work you will be miserable in life.
So that you are not the overworked outsider.
You have to like going to work. You have to want to be there. If you don't, you won't succeed.
