3 weeks. The mom will receive STD. I agree a dad should get 3 weeks too. They have 12 weeks of FMLA.

It depends on that family's personalized situation and the rules of the company. Some companies don't give PTO (or 2 weeks maximum). Unless the mom and/or baby is severely sick and/or the dad is experiencing post pregnancy complications of his own, he doesn't need any PTO (or 2-3 days at the most).

Yes, Maternity leave should be given to both parents. One month is what I think is fair.

Moms should get up to 3 months and dads a month

Mom's need more time off so they can get on a sleeping and milking schedule. In addition, they need time to get rid of that annoying baby fat.

Moms should get more. They physically are more damaged by the new birth.

I think the current regulations are fair. Moms are more important if they are nursing. Otherwise it should be equal for both sexes.

If the mother gives birth to the baby and if she is breast feeding she may need more time off than the father to physically recuperate and get the baby adjusted to a feeding schedule. But the father should also be allowed to take time off to assist the mother with this important event.

Same! At least 6 months for both. Really best would be a year — like the rest of the developed nations!!!

Moms and dads should get 6 weeks for bonding. Moms who gave birth should get an extra 6 weeks. Birth takes a toll on a moms body she needs extra time to recover.

Short term disability along with FMLA should cover this. If they have any accrued PTO, they can use that too.

PTO specifically? I think there is short term disability, as well as, FMLA that covers new parents so what ever they’ve accrued I’m PTO per company policy should be it.

At the very least 4-5 weeks, especially for mothers. For dads I’d say at minimum 3.
