It is healthy when it is used as a motivator to move things forward, it is not when it causes people to sabotage coworkers & the whole team to try to make themselves look better. It's bad when it causes lies, backstabbing, personal attacks, threats to keep people in line, or silent.
Almost never. Only useful as a game in very mature teams.
When it is fun and each team member is supportive
Why is it a competition? I've always heard employers want team players. Everyone needs to hold up their end for the success of everyone.
There should not be competition at any job. If you do the best you can you’re a boss will notice
I believe competition is acceptable if your job is based off commissions or if your pay is incentive based. Some positions you are paid by the more you do and some jobs are team work and youre pay doesnt reflect a number it is an hourly pay. If you are on a base pay position then its not ok to be competitive because youre only to make the team as a whole look bad not just yourself.
As long as you can still collaborate and benefit the company.
It is healthy when it benefits the company in regard to stats. It is unhealthy when it is done to look like a better employee.
I personally do not think it is ever really healthy unless the employer started it for fun
When it is healthy competition, its fine, when it's not, it's not.
When the competition, is willing to help the others win it is still healthy. When information or resources are withheld, it is unhealthy.
I don't think competition is healthy if you are on a team however if you are working alone and it is commission base then you better compete
