We don't have a system in place to do that. No money. You've only been here 6 years......
The commission structure is designed so I can "earn my raise" through that
hospital losing money supervisor changed my title w/o telling me and I was locked in a lower wage scale for years.
Wait 6 months, then I "have" to be manager, then my felonies were an issue when I could've been told to begin with. Last I seen man get a raise and didn't have to pass through anything I did.
"You don't fit the culture we want a leader like you to have"
Net profit/loss of the organization
Our numbers are down.
The most common is a reference to the company standard. Other times you had to be "excellent" or above in all your review ratings or would have to achieve a new title/position. Most of the time it just boils down to the company can't/won't afford it.
One of the reasons I have been given for not getting a raise is that although I’ve done a good job, there’s More office tasks I need to familiarize myself with and truly grasp things, before considering a raise.
Low reimbursement from insurers Market surveys show we are competitive
Budget. Hard to argue with that one. It's also valid to withhold a raise if the employee is not performing.
the company cannot afford it
Laundry list. Mostly management blames corporate and nobody trains me on what I need to improve on to get a raise. There are no set goals for raises, and management actually told me that paying employees more fairly is not a priority of the company, which is oh so depressing. No plans for a raise for QS's despite people in production making more than leadership as confirmed with floor group leads.
Lack of degree, bad economy
Not speaking enough in team meetings.
It's not in the budget. Corporate said no. We don't give raises like that. If you want more money you're better off leaving the company, we don't reward excellence with significant salary increases.
Company finances are tight
Not in the budget, I have maxed out of my pay grade.
In my position, we get small raises 1-2 times per year (based on review). Beyond that, we're not given raises on an individual basis.
We get paid a small salary and then commission
Oracle does not give performance or cost of living raise or any raise at all.
Cant afford to,company policy, not fair to other employees
We don’t have money
Because the company is cutting back on expenses
I've always been given a raise it's just based on performance
"Everyone at this company is already overpaid." "We've got a wage freeze in place." "This is Bellingham and this market just doesn't support a living wage."
All the kinds of lame excuses, which were clear lies. 1) the company needs to cut costs 2) market conditions are not favorable 3) the company already offer "great benefits"
