Find out what the difficulties are. It is a computer/software issue? (or any other tools that are used for the job). Communication issues? Stress from work or from personal life? Are they just overwhelmed?

Address the situation head on, see if you can get to the root of the issue and go from there

Do something non-work related to ease tensions - lunch, a volunteer effort, etc. Get to know each other personally. People who know each other well work much better together and understand their perspectives.

Be more objective. sPend more time with them and try to rationalize differences.

Ask for their advice about something, or inquire about something personal that you've heard them talk about in the past. Example: "I recall you saying your daughter was applying to several colleges. How did that end up?"

Depends on the personality. For backstabbers, address face to face with witnesses. For all others try to understand where the tension is coming from.
