You get a lot of freedom to work your own way and develop your own processes/systems ?
They're accessible, doesn't have that outdated hierarchy feeling. I don't feel like a nuisance for reaching out to a Sr. Director, VP, or SVP
It keeps a roof over my head, my power on, and food in my fridge? It's a pretty basic compensation package, maybe even a bit lacking.
Very laid back, very people focused. We all work hard and we care about our work, but we also don't see work as the defining characteristics of our existence. Work/life balance really is embodied by my team.
We are so insanely good at our jobs that the incredible things we do feel mundane. The core team has been together for 3 years or so now and we have so much chemistry and collaborate so well together.
At least on the San Diego side, everyone seems to get along well and being a culture fit is really important when we hire, so it's rare you have somebody come in and cause problems due to clashes with other employees.
Summer. Fridays. And the flexible schedule, I don't feel guilty about having to run an errand during the day and I know my managers trust me to still get my work done. And I am paid over the average for my position, so I know I am valued.
Since our merger is still pretty fresh, I don't really think I can confidently weigh in on the management team since the sample size is so small. In this small time, though, I have had a mixture of good and bad experiences. Some company leaders are great, others are not.
