If they paid better they could keep good workers. If you've worked there for 20 years your compensated good. But many good workers leave due to low wages.
5 years ago I started at 27k a year. I know make 37k which is not bad but they are hiring people off the street near that mark. Rendering my grade 3 lead operator almost the same as a day one hire. Also hourly have received 2% raise increase for the last 3yrs when support and mgmt. Have got 5-10%
