Put in for time off & get it approved if no one else has requested the same day(s) off, then it depends on who it is. The main issue is taking a "day" off which is an eight hour paid day, but our days are twelve-hour shifts, so you can work part of a day, or use multiple "days" to get a whole one off.
The company offers one paid day off for every three months you work. The day must be used during those three months and do not accrue or carry over. As long as your boss approves of what you want your day for, certain people don't want that day & ok's it in advance, then you are good.
You get a PTO day every quarter that you can take if your boss approves the day you want depending on what you want it for (if they approve of your plans,) if anyone else wants it & your ranking (not based on seniority.)
Other than your vacation time, you get a "paid (flex) day off" (8 hours) every quarter. The only problem is your "paid time" be it vacation or flex is for eight hours & a regular work day is twelve.
