Does Century Casinos drug test or do a background check?
Not a chance, if we did a drug test there would only be a few of us left to work here. I understand, hard to deal with the hate speech in this place without a little something, but you should at least wait until you get home.
If they drug tested the casino would close down, the "background" check is mostly just having a gaming license.
Drug test, HA,HA,HA, are you kidding, not a chance, every department but the money counting guys would no crew at all.
How hard is it to get promoted at Century Casinos?
Only "promotion," is maybe in the case of someones' retirement, quitting or death.
Don't expect any promotion unless someone retires or quits, you may get a title change (rare,) but no money or actual moving up.
Unless someone quits or gets fired there is nowhere for you to go, might get a title change.
What is the PTO policy at Century Casinos?
The company offers one paid day off for every three months you work. The day must be used during those three months and do not accrue or carry over. As long as your boss approves of what you want your day for, certain people don't want that day & ok's it in advance, then you are good.
You get a PTO day every quarter that you can take if your boss approves the day you want depending on what you want it for (if they approve of your plans,) if anyone else wants it & your ranking (not based on seniority.)
Other than your vacation time, you get a "paid (flex) day off" (8 hours) every quarter. The only problem is your "paid time" be it vacation or flex is for eight hours & a regular work day is twelve.
What should I wear for an interview at Century Casinos?
Depends on which department you are applying for, but try to dress in business casual at a minimum. For some departments, your NRA shirt & MAGA hat would be best.
Your attire should reflect the position that you are applying for.
Depends on the department you are applying for, for some casual would be fine, for others a white collared shirt would be better & some your "maga" hat would be best.
What's the interview process like at Century Casinos?
Pretty simple, from what I have seen if you will show up & can quietly put up with the racism & hate speech, you will keep your job.
Depends on the department you are applying for, some are if you are breathing you are hired because we are going through, are short & can't keep people. Other positions I am sure are more in-depth.
Pretty basic asked about previous experience, reliable transportation (ability to get to work no matter what the weather,) any health issues.
How's the vacation policy at Century Casinos?
It is screwy, you work a twelve-hour shift, but get ten hour vacation days/times.
Eight-hour vacation day, even though the actual work day is twelve hours, so the way your vacation hours/days/time is calculated it is sometimes problematic to use. You can ask for time off, chances of getting the time you want are 50/50, depending on who you are, some can do whatever they want with no repercussions, show up late, or not at all and nothing happens. For others, if you are one min late then you are in major trouble.
As long as you don't want a day that one of the "special" people want (even if they state they are not doing anything, just requested the day because you already had requested it,) & it isn't on certain busy days, you are fine.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Century Casinos?
Listen to employee complaints & rather than silencing or threatening them, actually fire or reprimand those spreading hate speech, racism, sexism, bigotry, misogyny. As it is now those are the ones being protected & if you report or complain of threats, attacks, harassment you are made to be silent or find another job. While those few doing the attacking, threatening, daily "jokes," comments, hate speech are protected, covered for & excuses made for them.
Would do a couple things opposite of the way they are now. Those that are being attacked (rumors, name calling, bigotry, racism, sexism,) would be listened to and those attacking them / constantly spewing bigotry & racism would be reprimanded / warned to watch their words. Rather than defending the attacker & telling those who are being attacked to keep their mouths shut if they want to keep their jobs/schedules.
Fire or at least reprimand vocal racists, bigots, misogynists & those who attack and/or threaten their coworkers, rather than cover & make excuses for them. Also stop attacking & threatening those who speak out against them, report them, ask them to stop / stand up to them. It is just reinforcing & making their behavior worse & letting them know they can continue with no consequences.
What's the best part of your job at Century Casinos?
My manager & the majority of my coworkers.
Most of my coworkers, there are only a few whose behavior is extremely hard to handle, for the most part, my coworkers are really good people.
The small group of employees who are still like a family, anytime I work with one or multiple of them is nice.
How do you feel about Century Casinos's future?
The company will do fine, they will make huge amounts of money for the higher ups & nothing for the rank & file employees. As long as a few managers keep lying, covering for people that can't perform their job duties & defending sexism, racism, bigotry, while threatening those who report it, we will continue to see massive turnover in the workforce & waste huge amounts of time and energy on training people just for them to leave at their first opportunity.
The casino will continue as it has for quite some time, the racism, bigotry, sexism will eventually bite some people, but most will continue to remain silent so they are not threatened & attacked outside of the workplace. The business will continue on just fine, though falling behind the other larger casinos in town.
I am sure it will make sure it (corporate) does just fine, no matter what the cost in employees & turnover.
What unique perks and benefits does Century Casinos provide?
I can't think of anything "unique" to Century, we offer the same or less than most of the other casinos in the area. I don't know of any other casinos that allow employees to spread hate speech, racism, sexism & bigotry the way Century does, here depending on who you are you will be covered, defended & excuses made (or straight up lies,) to take care of you.
Can't think of anything unique, there are many casinos in the area some better, some worse.
Depending on who you are, or are liked by there are a completely different set of rules (or no rules at all,) for some gaming laws don't even seem to be anything but if you feel like it guide lines.
How innovative is Century Casinos?
We get new machines in at about the same or slower rate than some of the other larger casinos, equipment is old, much of it is out of date & doesn't work like it use to.
Well we get new machines in occasionally.
Get new machines in on occasion, faster/more frequent than some other local casinos, slower/less than others.
What's the work from home policy like at Century Casinos?
We are a customer service place, other than I.T. you don't work from home.
There is no "work from home."
We are primarily in the service industry, so there is no "work from home."
How common is it to switch departments or teams at Century Casinos?
Only to try to get away from the racists, bigots & sexists, but they are spread across all shifts.
Switching departments is a pretty common occurrence at Century, they at least give another department a try prior to quitting altogether. Department doesn't matter as much as which shift you get and if you have to work with the untouchables (they can say & do whatever they wish, with no responsibility or repercussions for racism, bigotry, sexism, misogyny, hate speech.)
How often do employees get raises at Century Casinos?
Once every year or two you may get a "raise" that will not cover the cost of living increases, inflation, or now the insane insurance costs. Got a "raise" & my paycheck is actually less due to insurance costs.
Many get the yearly bump by less than inflation and less than the insurance went up. You get a "raise" & your check is less than it was.
What are the differences between maternity and paternity leave at Century Casinos?
Women of course get more time off "leave of absence" and have a better chance of keeping/getting their old job back when they return.
For maternity, you can take a leave of absence & hope for the best, for the father, hope you have some vacation time saved up.
What is the dress code at Century Casinos?
The company provides work shirts & you provide dark pants & shoes.
Most departments have uniforms that are provided, others have a more casual dress code.
How long does it take to hear back after applying to Century Casinos?
People are getting burned out on the constant sexism, racism, bigotry, misogyny & threats and are quitting all over the place, so shouldn't take very long.
Since we have numerous openings in various departments and can't keep people anymore, you should hear back pretty quickly.
How long after an interview at Century Casinos does it take to hear back?
Since we have people getting fed up with the racism, bigotry & hate speech and quitting on a weekly (sometimes daily,) basis you should hear back rather quickly depending on which department you applied for.
Since we can't seem to keep people anymore & have numerous openings in most departments you should hear back pretty quickly. Especially if you are a white male.
What do you wish you knew before starting at Century Casinos?
That certain people were untouchable in addition to being racist, bigoted, sexist, misogynistic, liars & backstabbers who would threaten & attack other employees and management would not only not do anything, but would attack & threaten as well.
That over time the good people would leave due to the constant racism, bigotry, sexism, misogyny & that behavior would be covered for & defended by higher-ups, while those mentioning or complaining about would be threatened & attacked.
What are the most important soft skills to be successful at Century Casinos?
If you are not straight, white, old, male who claims to be "christian," you had better have thick skin & ability to stay stone-faced while a number of co-workers spew hate speech, threats & attacks on others. Ability to ignore racism, bigotry, sexism, misogyny, and various hate speech against everyone not straight, white, old & male.
Ability to remain silent & not make any expression while co-workers are making racist, bigoted, sexist, misogynistic, comments or behavior. Otherwise, you will be attacked or threatened for complaining or mentioning their behavior or hate speech.
What kind of interview questions do they ask when hiring someone in the Customer Support department at Century Casinos?
Have no idea, obviously not the correct ones because we rotate though people on a weekly basis.
Don't know what they ask anymore, has been such a turn over in the couple years I have worked here. So many have come and gone.
How are the healthcare options at Century Casinos?
So far pricey (but not bad when looking at the current national disaster,) but do actually have pretty good coverage. Scared at what is happening at the national level & how much more prices are going up with less covered.
Similar to everywhere, prices are going up & less is covered. At least most can still get coverage even if it is pricey, some casinos in town are already covering little to nothing or taking money from check without actually covering you at all.
What kinds of community outreach does Century Casinos participate in?
We let homeless people & drug addicts sleep in the casino, outdoor areas & doorways, free popcorn & drinks.
We sponsor the various "days," "fests," & "rallies."
What is the hardest interview question Century Casinos asks?
About getting along with or dealing with people (coworkers) that have "different views." Didn't realize that those "views" we are to be "tolerant" of were hatred of non-whites, females, LGBTQ+, bigotry, "religious" hate speech, lying & backstabbing.
Not sure what type of interview questions asked now, depends on who is doing the interview, the manager, what department and position being applied for. Things have changed a huge amount since I started here almost five years ago, just in the past two or three things have gotten completely crazy, hypocritical & backward on so many things.
What is the onboarding process like at Century Casinos and how long does it last?
Little to no training, learn what not to do & who not to trust by being yelled at for things that happened prior to you being hired, or while you were not there, that were done by other people.
Little to no "onboarding," or training, mostly a learn as you go & hope for the best. Try to remain as quiet as possible until you find out who the "untouchables," are or you will be backstabbed and lied about for not agreeing with, covering & making excuses for the small handful of certain people.
