The on boarding process is not straight forward. Although you have contacts to assist with questions, I found that no one was able to answer my questions about benefits and vacation. There was no effort by the company to be transparent about this - particularly vacation - before you accept the job. I think this is a poor way to start with any employee. I spent a fair bit of time trying to find the right person to speak to and when I eventually did they couldn't even be exact about what my vacation time was and how it was accrued. I think this, salary and benefits should be part of the offer letter so that employees know from the start how it works. Otherwise, my training information arrived by email regularly so I knew when to be where. It is very important that you communicate your concerns to your hiring manager as they may be able to help or at least point you in the right direction.

Depending on the department, you usually go through a period of training. There are many safety nets in the company in my opinion. Almost to the point where you question whether or not certain people should even have jobs seeing as how badly some of them mess up all the time. Nevertheless, there are safety nets in place and this is definitely not a fire happy company.
