Technically, the work from home policy is to handle it with your manager directly. HR doesn't police it, and there isn't a system to track it. These are sorted on a case-by-case basis, based on your role and priority list. Having said that, that is a traditional company and face time is currency. Taking advantage of a flexible work schedule will limit your advancement opportunities. It is neither fair nor unfair--it just is. Know that going in to it.
