
Focus on the work. Make merit And level based decision on actual merit that achieved a business objective that added to the customer experience as well as the bottom line. Focus on results not like ability and political prowess. It was extremely inwardly focused and extremely focused on looking good with no substance beneath.
The culture in my store is very diverse, welcoming, and customer focused. We have a strong, respectful store manager. I'd like to see midlevel managers do more work and less delegating and socializing.
I would motivate my employees and not micro manage them. When closing stores I would find jobs for my hardworking tenured employees and I wouldn’t make them start from the bottom all over again.
If you hire someone to work, they shouldn't come to work to eat breakfast and lunch and screwoff all day long by playing with their IPod and listening to music all shift long.
