If you plan to work here you should realize they will pay you as little as possible. Most stores will allow you to start at max 15/hr to 17/hr. You have to know your stuff and rock the interview to even think of asking for that. Most people will get minimum wage to 13/hr. Just realize when you get your starting wage there is little chance that will change more than 10 cents a year for the rest of your career. I worked there for 15 years and had to fight for increases in pay. They base pay raises on how well you did on the year and add on how the store did. If you are apart of an underperforming store you might as well say goodbye to a raise.
I have been there 6 years. I make the new minimum wage. Our union negotiated for us to get more money, or I think we would get paid the same as the new people coming in. I now make 12.65 an hour.
I'm 18yrs old and have no experience in retail what so ever (this is my first job) and they're starting me off with $15.00 a hr (or at least that's what they told me) my position is colleague selling/ retail sales associate
It's $15.00 a hour. Some of us that have been there for a while have a wage that's $3.00-$5.00 more. Furniture people and Women's shoes people are on commission.
Your company pays under minuim rages. Who can pay their bills with that little change you pay them and all the hard work you want them to do.
Not enough pay for the amount of work constantly put on them and the tasks keep building up and the pay stays the same.
Not very good at all. Macy's pay is not competitive with other similar stores I think and actually pays less than fast food.
Our store is unionized and I've worked for them for a long time, so I think pay is not too bad.
In Texas you start off at $9.00 hr. You can look forward to a 15 cent raise every year.
If you have over 20 yrs of tenure pay is pretty good, new hires get minimum wage
The pay is decent. It’s really about your experience in the industry.
The hourly rate is okay. The commission percentages are very low to start.
In the 100% commission furniture/mattresses and rugs department the pay is excellent.
The sky is the limit in a fully commission department.
It is low, even for retail.
minimum wage to slightly above
Could be better.
Minimum Wage.
Pretty good
