I'm not privy to the procedures but some people seem to fast track up he ladder while some people seem to get held back. Macy's considers it a promotion if you go from part time to full time. That's not a promotion!
I never see a performance review. They have extra mangers at Christmas and some associates are asked if they want to be a Christmas manager and sometimes that leads to becoming a supervisor in a department and sometimes a department manager.
Not very often, even with stellar performance reviews. If there is a promotion, the most deserving associates who have enough experience and seniority get passed up for somebody who wasn’t qualified.
Depends upon your position. If you are a Sales Associate - it is based on the store's need. If there is no need for a Specialist or ASM, you are not promoted.
They don't like to promote unless you are the VP's favorite. You will die in the position or leave. The performance reviews took a month to fill out and were incomprehensible.
They are promoted frequently and seems to be tied to performance, but also seems to be tied to profiles
Most of the promotions come from people who are higher ups quitting, and Leads filling their position's if their qualified.
Not offen u have to kiss butt to move up and makes all sales and open alot of credit cards
Promotions tied to performance and if there’s any available positions.
Not very often and yes
Every year
