My team is full of people from all different backgrounds. I love the fact that we can have a dialog together and share what we're thinking about and feel safe doing that. We also all support each other's interests which I think is invaluable.

I love coming to work and seeing people who look like myself making it into higher positions within Newsela. I love seeing that we have difficult conversations and make actionable change as a team and as an organization. Everyone is willing to help and rise together.

The best part of my compensation package is the the very comprehensive options with regards to how to best support myself and my partner! I think also the fact that they give us flexible PTO really makes me feel equipped with taking time off when I need it.

I love working with my coworkers. They are always there to support me even without having to ask. They never make me feel silly for asking questions or needing help. They also are great at advocating for what I want and saying my name in the rooms where I might not be.

I love being able to work with so many people who look like myself. And so many different types of folks. I am thankful I can come into work everyday authentically like myself without judgement. I am thankful for being in an organization that recognizes its duty and impact to its students.

During the pandemic, I have to say that they have been very flexible about how our money is used to support us. In addition, they've done a lot to make sure we work towards supporting folks from all different backgrounds. I also see them working on things that were once a concern for me.

I genuinely love how much effort everyone at any level makes to make sure we properly introduce each other any time we might have new people in the room. I love how much work my peers do in making sure we create inclusive spaces and also hold each other accountable to creating an inclusive space.
