Interacting with my patients. Meeting the challenge of holding onto hope for someone when they are not at point in their lives where they are able to do that for themselves.
Leadership is not in the same union as staff and it creates a culture where it feels like it’s ‘us against them’ and they do take advantage of employees who don’t request union support in meetings etc.
The company works hard and invests a lot of marketing in company culture. ‘The Sharp Experience’ is well known in San Diego and Sharp tends to hire employees with customer service backgrounds to further this patient satisfaction goal which unfortunately does sometimes come before patient safety.
Benefits package is fair, copay is $20 for virtually everything, vision and dental with a very minimal extra charge for premium dental. Company matches employee investment in 401k up to 6%. They also offer a lot of free betterment classes and financial /retirement education and wellness incentives.
My coworkers are very supportive and helpful. We are absolutely committed to the common goal of patient care and patient safety and this comes before any interpersonal issues. I feel like we all maintain a level of professionalism that is exemplary and we hold each other to those standards.
