Verizon is a corporation they tell you everything is alright but they have other agendas that they do not share. Everyone is just a number at the end of the day it's all about showing profits for share holders. Verizon will keep losing ground till they become leaders again and stop following T-Mobile. Verizon has been second since Ledger took over and it's a matter of time before that annoying little guy becomes a threat once merger goes through. All employees dont trust Verizon and they know it's a matter of time before more layoffs come around. They just sent out an email to everyone asking for volunteers to resign and give them nice severance packages. Just shows company is not as sound as they say.

Verizon is shedding employees very aggressively and no one is safe at the company. If you plan on working at Verizon, do not count on job stability. They will saw everything is fine until HR taps you on the shoulder one day and performance does not matter either. On a positive note, they do offer a very generous severance package.
