I am a Solutions Manager in Retail. Over 40 hours I am paid halftime. I believe that is unfair because I am scheduled over 44 hours per week

To many other areas are not in any case with each other.
Environment is demoralizing for all levels of the organization. No one can seem to do anything right despite working very hard every day

In house leadership phenomenal upper leadership's good but at times does not cover the most important stat. The aftermath....
Some of the leadership are truly there to help continue Verizons growth and helping associates also grow with the company.
I like 3 of my managers but 2 of them should go. The helpful fun ones need to stay and the condescending and rude ones need to go

Mixed messages from corporate and local management. Direct managers don't allign with the corporate directive.
The bond between customer and company the clientele has been horrible because of company procedures and policies.

Show some type of appreciation on an annual basis. Stop added more to our work load on a monthly basis while being reluctant to pay us more
Not paid enough to work through all the internal chaos and rework caused by poor implementations.

What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Verizon?
Work/life balance 3 weekends on and one off compensated with time and a half on Sundays is a poor trade. Also, scheduling by seniority sticks newer employees to evenings (or overnight) shifts as opposed to the desired 8-5 in perpituity until they hire new classes and senior members retire--a situation that can take years to decades!!!

Old technology sales are dropping while new technology like SDN and digital and cloud
Everywhere in Verizon is looking to reduce down in staff to the point to where it hurts.
Wireless and Network. Wireline is a loss cause

Know the hiring manager or be the same race or have the same political views.
Just talk, be nosey don't be afraid to recommend

Get read of ever leader at director level and above and get some fresh ideas and approaches.
Hiring needs to be handeled by a 3rd party not the hiring manager. They hire all their friends and nothing more.
Changes to retail hours and compensation need to be made

Verizon counts heads for every race except whites. They don’t hire the best person they hire the right race to make it seem very diverse.

Terrible. You are expected to answer calls and emails late into the night and early morning. Working from home is considered slacking off by some leaders.

What's the office layout like at Verizon?
Cubicles with headsets with locked cabinets for personal effects. TV's on every wall for trouble shooting and watching events. "Info panels" to "advertise" Company initiatives. Kitchens for food from home, main level has gym, cafeteria, and cafe with a Starbucks.

How's the morale at Verizon?
Stressed to meet often unobtainable metrics. Little to no training offered on new equipment or processes cause learning on the fly or coming in early to learn on your own time.
Somewhat low. Management isn’t transparent and is slow or lacking communication

He does not seek diversity in his own direct report team. He's very traditional in his approach.
Hans is new. Hard to tell Problem is that they keep moving around ineffective leaders making bad decisions.
He is over paid figure head.

Tough, thourogh, and mind- provoking.
Doesn’t really matter. People hire who they like often causing discrimination against some races
