I am blessed to work at Carrington College. There are some people in admin that make work difficult at times. The ES and FA departments are a joke- and I feel bad for the students that are lied to and ignored by the people in these departments. I have no respect for how they do business.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We have academic freedom to fix problems that may present with the curriculum. problems are solved in a timely manner. There is much support from tutors and coaches, which takes the burden off of the Instructors at times.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My direct supervisor is amazing. I have never worked for such a great manager who strives to make the best of each situation. I do not know much about other leadership, as it has fluctuated a lot since I have been here.
What makes you most happy at work?
That I can be self-sufficient- I do my job well and I do not have managers constantly beings negative and nosey about daily tasks. My managers trust that I am doing my job well- because they know I give 1000% each day.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone in my immediate team is a hard worker- no one is lazy. Also, we all have individual strengths and knowledge so we can help each other as needed. We work hard to get our jobs done safely and with enthusiasm and drive for our students.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Our benefits package is terrible!! I pay more here than I ever have at any other job. We do not get the option for Kaiser either, which meant I had to leave my PCP that I have had for 10 years. If I ever have a medical issue I balk because I am so nervous about how much the bill(s) will be.
