Considering there are $21 billion worth of open jobs in tech, it feels like there’s an equal number of coding bootcamps out there looking to increase the talent pool. How do you pick one that works for your schedule, fits within your budget, and helps you get a job?
Our friends at PowerToFly wrote a guide on how to choose a coding bootcamp that’s chock-full of advice from a number of experts who rank bootcamps for a living (yes, these people exist now).
Once you’ve chosen the right coding bootcamp, you’ll need to figure out how to pay for it. Camps can range from $0 to $17,000 for a six month program with job guarantees. If you’re looking to fund the later part of the cost scale, there are a ton of scholarship opportunities, or you could enter a deferred payment plan with a coding bootcamp called an ISA (Income Share Agreement) where you pay back a portion of your income after you’ve gotten a job.
We’re in a talent bull-market, so take advantage of the fact that coding bootcamps are in a deep competition to enroll more students. Just make sure you find the right camp – and a funding plan that works best for you.
