Employees tend to stick with employers who invest in their career growth, seek out opportunities for their professional development, and push them to the next level. Unfortunately, that’s not happening often enough.
Forty-five percent of people across all industries say their employer is invested in their career growth, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. More than 10,000 employees were included in the query.
The age decline
People aged 18 to 25 are most likely to say their employer cares about their career growth (54%). The rate declines from there, hitting a low of 32% by the time someone is in their mid-50s.
Women vs. men
Women are slightly less inclined to say their employers are invested in their career growth (43% of women vs. 47% of men).
From a diversity standpoint
African Americans reported the highest rates of feeling their employer supports their career growth. Responses were relatively close across the board.
The figures referenced are as of Nov. 8.
