Companies in the U.S. aren’t required to provide paid leave to new moms and dads, but it seems the practice is catching on regardless.
About 65% of people surveyed in the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably say their employers offer paid maternity and paternity leave. More than 5,000 people, predominantly in tech, were surveyed in the query.

San Francisco is at the top
San Francisco employers lead the pack when it comes to being open about issues related to gender and diversity, so it’s no surprise that they’re also driving change on the maternity/paternity front. Seventy-nine percent of respondents in the Golden Gate city say their company offers some sort of paid paternity and maternity leave, according to the query.
Data is new as of March 6.
