The percentage of men who have seen their pay jump 100% over the last seven years is more than double that of women, according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably.
The breakdown
Twenty-three percent of men say they have seen their compensation grow by 100% over the last seven years compared to just 11% of women, according to the query, which surveyed more than 10,000 workers across the technology industry.
Overall, when workers were asked how much their compensation rose over the last seven years, the most popular choice was “5% to 20%,” followed by “20 to 50%.”
BY ETHNICITY: 20% of Caucasians and 18% of Asians and Pacific Islanders say their compensation doubled in the last 7 years compared to 10% of African Americans and 8% of Hispanic/Latinos.
BY DEPARTMENT: Workers in engineering and product were most likely to say their compensation has doubled in the last 7 years (25% and 24%, respectively) compared to admin and customer support (5% and 7%, respectively).
BY EDUCATION: Workers who earned a higher education saw more of a compensation increase in the last 7 years than workers who did not.
