Forty-three percent of people say the overall business climate will be “good” in 2018 and 26% say it will be “amazing,” according to the latest reading of an ongoing query by Comparably. More than 500 workers across all industries responded to the query.
Breaking it down
Overall, 69% of people had an optimistic view of business in the New Year (either “amazing” or “good”). Another 19% had a neutral opinion about business next year. Just 12% had a negative view of business in the year ahead — 9% said they think there will be a downturn in the business climate and 3% said the business climate will be “awful.”
Women slightly less positive than men
Overall, 72% of men were positive about next year compared to 65% of women. Women were slightly more neutral (21% vs. 17% of men). Eleven percent of men were pessimistic about the New Year compared with 14% of women.
Entry-level workers least optimistic
Entry-level workers responded least optimistically about business conditions next year — 62% of them said things will be either “good” or “amazing.”
