To celebrate this year’s Black History Month, The Diaspora, nCino’s employee resource group for employees representing the African Diaspora, has some great events planned! The heart of nCino’s celebration this year is “economic inclusion.” To kick off the month, The Diaspora hosted a social for local Black professionals to mingle, enjoy live music by a local Black artist and connect with diversity representatives from some of Wilmington’s most impactful organizations. Employees were also invited to attend a private dining experience with Chef Keith Rhodes, an award-winning Black chef, at his own Catch Restaurant. Later in February, The Diaspora, in collaboration with the Veteran’s Network, will host a screening of Devotion, the story of a Black U.S. Navy pilot, for employees both remote and in the office, and a panel discussion afterwards. As we wrap up Black History Month, nCino will also unveil a portrait of John C. Dancy, Jr., the influential Collector of Customs for the Port of Wilmington at the time of the 1898 Massacre. The portrait was commissioned by a Black artist last year and will be placed in its permanent home in Wilmington Headquarters as a way to memorialize his legacy. During this month, and beyond, nCino is committed to providing spaces where our employees feel seen and valued.

This year Qualtrics will be celebrating Black History Month by hosting a month of programming around the theme of ‘Celebrating Black Excellence, Triumph, and Impact on America’.
This month we’ll be sharing examples of excellence within our company and outside and taking the time to uplift Black and African American voices. We’re excited to share Instagram takeovers and blog posts highlighting members of Qualtrics. This theme was selected by our employee resource group, MosaiQ, and will serve as the basis for events such as our keynote by Dr. Raven Maragh Lloyd, who will explore the topic of excellence in everyday black digital media practices.
We have also renewed our anti-racism commitment and equity goals for FY23 and are committed to being anti-racist not only in our words, but in our actions.

At ADP, we are excited about the Black History Month celebrations and programs – with the theme of “Igniting Our Power Through Education” – taking place across our locations!
Throughout February, we will look at the historical and present trends in traditional and non-traditional education related to the Black experience. We will start by speaking with the cast of “A Different World” to address the show’s impact, then and now, and the connection to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). We will also be digging into the effect that education has on the current business environment, as explained by a few of our strategic partners and how ADP is helping to support Black business growth. We have a “back by popular demand” presentation of a discussion between Nela Richardson, ADP’s Chief Economist, and Toshie Davis of the OneTen coalition, who will discuss Black Health and Economics. We are really excited about a multi-generational panel of African American ADP associates who will discuss their journeys to success. Lastly, we will have a session on Supplier Diversity led by Laurinda Thomas, Sr. Director of Sourcing, Global Procurement. Our CEO, Maria Black, will also have a special closing message to end the month and reinforce ADP’s commitment to supporting the community beyond altruism.
We invite all associates to participate in the conversation, whether sharing their own experiences, advocating as an ally, or listening and learning, as each of these roles is vital for progress. ADP fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace through open conversation and collaboration, and looks forward to a month of learning and celebration ahead.

In 2023 we’re focused on ways to keep the conversation active, rather than just a “one and done” communication on Black History Month. We’ve educated our employees on the racial wealth gap and took recommendations on Black-owned small businesses to support and shop local in February and beyond. We’re sharing biographies of Black senior leaders and board members to celebrate accomplishments and provide inspiration to others. We’re playing Black History Month Trivia bankwide. Later this month we’ll be introducing some Black History Month micro-learnings. Lastly, thanks to the sponsorship and planning of our People of Color Employee Resource Group, we’re welcoming Lawrence Funderburke, former power forward for the Sacramento Kings, to give a presentation on Black History and the perception of allyship.

Here at Sage, we are recognizing Black History Month, in North America, loud and proud in honour of African American history and culture, and to celebrate Black achievement. We do this because we strongly believe, as expressed by our CEO – Steve Hare, that: “Engaging with history is vital in providing context for the present.” We have a couple of internal events lined up to ensure that we keep having the conversations that are shaping the way we support our black colleagues in North America, ensuring that they always feel included and valued for who they are! We are therefore proud to feature: 1. Lachandra B. Baker, founder of LBB Edutainment on February the 16th, who will present – via a fireside chat – on how to engage to better yourself and your workplace. She will be weaving tenets and ideas around BHM throughout her presentation, providing her unique insights around how to properly engage inside and outside of the workplace to advance sense of self and better human relationships. The theme of the session is Engage – EVERYONE NEEDS GUIDANCE AND GRACE EVERYDAY to do their best work. 2. The BUILD Network (our version of an Employee Resource Group for our Black colleagues in North America) on February the 21st, will sponsor a Sage colleague internal discussion themed ‘Your Personal Brand’ facilitated by BUILD members and Sage colleagues – Ron Thomas and Nkosana Peebles. They will speak on ‘How to Establish your Professional Brand via LinkedIn.’ Ron is an LI Certified Social Selling expert and Nkosana offers LI branding advice as a consultant. This session will be open to ALL colleagues. 3. As part of the conclusion of Black History Month, Sage’s DEI North America team in partnership with BUILD (Blacks United in Leadership Development) Colleague Success Network is proud to announce that Sage will be joined by Esosa Ighodaro co-founder of Black Women Talk Tech. (BWTT). The topic for this interactive session is: “Be Inspired and Empowered – a Conversation for all Genders”. A Q&A Session with Esosa will follow our fireside chat. Through all these sessions, we continue to remain commitment to knocking down barriers for our colleagues, customers, and partners to thrive.
