At Catalent, our Pride Month activities are developed and sponsored by our global LGBTQ+ Employees & Allies Resource Network (LEARN) Employee Resource Group (ERG), in partnership with our Global Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Office. This year, the team is planning a multitude of events, spanning various platforms to ensure participation opportunities are equitable to employees of all departments in all regions across the globe. Each of our Catalent sites is encouraged to raise the Intersex-Inclusive Progressive Pride Flag outside of their buildings throughout the month of June, displaying a signal of Catalent support for the LGBTQ+ community among all employees and the surrounding local area. Virtual backgrounds containing various LGBTQ+ flags and graphics will be shared on the LEARN intranet page for employees to utilize in virtual meetings, bringing a pop of color into any virtual space and at many times, sparking conversations with fellow employees and leaders about Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ community. A photo drive referred to as Rainbow Week will take place on our internal social media platform where employees share photos of themselves, their families, pets, etc. corresponding to a color of the rainbow that has been assigned for each day of the week. In addition to these initiatives, LEARN will be hosting a panel discussion focused on stories of allyship and how exercising allyship within personal and professional spaces is an essential characteristic of inclusive environments. A Pride Guide booklet is distributed to each of the LEARN site chapters and among our global Human Resources team to provide details of each event, as well as resources and best practices on how sites can partner locally with community events such as Pride parades and festivals to promote Catalent and our LEARN ERG.

Our slogan for this year’s Pride Month is “You are our Pride” and our events are themed around “how to be your authentic self”. We have planned an array of both in-person and virtual events from drag bingo to listen and learn sessions. On our company’s sharepoint site, we highlighted, ‘Get to know your colleagues better’ and featured Pride stories from colleagues on what Pride Month and Allies mean to them. Our company’s LinkedIn page will also highlight our Pride banner with our slogan. LexisNexis Risk Solutions has a history of taking Pride to the streets – we reshared our people in action in the London and Atlanta Pride Parade march videos from 2022 and highlighted the plans in the works for the same 2023 marches.

Curriculum Associates’ LGBTQ+ ERG (Employee Resource Group), Pride-Ready, was started in June of 2020 and is celebrating its third Pride month since its inception. Pride Month programming at Curriculum Associates was inspired by our Black ERG and their efforts around Black History Month earlier this year, which provided a series of events and activities centered around Black joy and experiences.
Our programming is employee-led, created by and with the members of the ERG, with the goal of creating a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ employees and allies. Sarah Croughwell Lincoln, Lead UX Designer and co-lead of the Pride-Ready ERG says of the 2023 programming, “It’s a bleak world out there right now for LGBTQIA+ folks. We want to make space for our community to focus on joy and celebration.”
Throughout the month of June, the group offers various activities and events that promote intersectional experiences and connections. Over the course of the five Fridays in June, the ERGs are partnering with other ERGs within CA to create intersectional hangouts, allowing individuals with similar intersecting identities to connect and build relationships.
To ensure diverse perspectives, Pride-Ready encouraged not only ERG members but also allies to create events or run activities. There’s a month-long bingo game, trivia, a postcard writing party and a book club focused on examining the gender binary.
As part of our commitment to fostering belonging, Curriculum Associates has made available the use of topic-specific groups within our Modern Health, a no-cost benefit that offers mental health support via telehealth. The Pride-Ready ERG partnered with Modern Health to create a community circle specifically for parents of LGBTQ+ children. This initiative aims to build an ally community, enhance understanding, and provide support. The community circle includes a licensed therapist who has specialized experience working with LGBTQIA+ youth and families and can assist parents in navigating their journey. Additionally, employees can continue their engagement on a one-on-one level through the same benefit offering. By offering a full spectrum of events and opportunities, Pride-Ready empowers connection, education, and understanding throughout Pride Month and beyond.

Each year, members of the UKG PRIDE employee resource group (ERG) host a variety of global Pride Month events and organizes multiple initiatives to celebrate being out and proud with LGBTQIA+ employees, families, and friends across UKG, around the world, and throughout our communities. More than just marking Pride Month in June, the celebration officially kicks off in late May and wraps up in July. This year, we hosted more than a dozen events for U Krewers, from town halls and fireside chats to virtual coffee chats and drag bingo; we marched together in local pride parades; celebrated our pride with colorful UKG PRIDE swag and virtual meeting backgrounds; decorated our home and in-office workspaces; and organized a giving campaign to support the Transgender Law Center (TLC), the largest national trans-led organization advocating for a world in which all people are free to define themselves and their futures. Our Pride Month events are designed to promote inclusivity and we invite and encourage all U Krewers to attend, to become more educated about the LGBTQ+ community, and get involved in support of the cause. To that end, UKG partnered with the nonprofit Out & Equal to host an event titled “Fostering LGBTQ+ Allyship at Work” for U Krewers to learn more about what being an ally really means and how allies can support their LGBTQ+ colleagues. The dynamic discussion and workshop made the case for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion, using a combination of leading national research and dynamic group exercises. Participants left with a concrete understanding of allyship, along with the basic tools needed to support and advocate for and with their LGBTQ+ colleagues.

At Northwestern Mutual we are proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community throughout Pride Month and all year long. As an organization we seek to increase awareness and understanding of the community’s challenges and progress. Leading that charge is our PRIDE ERG—720+ members strong– which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Employees are encouraged to walk together in Milwaukee’s Pride Parade, representing Northwestern Mutual. For our New York employees, the company offers a parade viewing party of NYC Pride in March. All employees are able to participate by displaying Zoom backgrounds that reinforce the theme and support.
To honor the month, the PRIDE ERG thoughtfully compiles programming with the theme: “Dream with Pride.” Events across the month include a mix of celebration, education, recognition and community.
As a show of support, our corporate buildings in Milwaukee are lit in the colors of the rainbow throughout June.
The ERG’s membership meeting invites the LGBTQ+ and ally community to come together, engage and celebrate. Impactful personal stories are shared along with ways to become more involved and supported.
As part of Northwestern Mutual’s “Summer Food Truck Festival” event, the PRIDE ERG hosts a sidewalk chalk activity for employees to create and share positive messages of support and celebration.
The “Sweets & Swag” event encourages employees to grab a treat from local LGBTQ+ friendly bakeries and show pride with various swag items.

At Guidewire, Pride Month is all about inclusion. We have created a schedule of both virtual and in-person events throughout June across the globe, including virtual drag queen bingo, late afternoon onsite pride parties (aka “Thirsty Thursdays), Pride workshops, volunteer opportunities, and more! Our theme this year to acknowledge the increase in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the U.S. and beyond is “Live. Love. Be.”. To support this theme we held a webinar for all employees on “Understanding the LGBTQ+ Experience” including external speakers from different facets of the queer community to speak on their lived experiences and the discrimination they’ve faced. This same theme was also brought to life in a Pride Month logo that was sold to employees for charity, raising over $1300 to benefit The Trevor Project in the United States. Globally, Guidewire team members are encouraged to participate in their local pride festivities and San Mateo employees have been invited to join the Guidewire contingent in the San Francisco Pride parade. Finally, in partnership with SF Pride, employees located in the Bay Area will also be volunteering at the SF Pride Human Rights Summit.
