The Gender Pay Gap in Tech

We did a survey of over 10,000 employees in the Tech Industry, to better understand what’s going on with the Gender Pay Gap in Tech.  We broke the results down by Age, Ethnicity, Education, Location, and Department.  The results in the Info-graphic below were fascinating.  You can see more transparent compensation and culture on Comparably.

Women entering the Tech work-force have the largest disparity with their male counterparts.  While women over 50 have the least. 



Caucasians & African Americans have the largest gender pay gaps in Tech, while Hispanic/Latinos & Native Americans have the lowest. 



Surprisingly both Women and Men in Tech make more money on average with only a High School education vs. a Bachelor Degree.  The largest gender pay gap in Tech exists when employees only have “Some College” education. 



The gender pay gap in Tech is most pronounced in Atlanta, and least pronounced in Salt Lake City. 



Women in the Tech industry who work in Finance, have the largest pay gaps with their Male counterparts.  While Women in the Tech industry who work in Admin roles make more than their Male counterparts.
