At the very top, our leaders are just genuinely humble people. They are constantly thinking about what's good for employees and make decisions with them in mind.
Great, innovative leaders. They are smart about how we do business!
The leadership at Veterans United Home Loans takes a hands-on approach. Each member of leadership, whether it be the CEO, department directors, or team managers, is highly invested in the personal success of the employees while also adhering to the vision of the company. The leadership makes VU.
They do a great job in a lot of ways but they are completely out of touch with the jobs that most of the people in the company do which is working on the actual loan. There are a lot of changes that need to be made that aren't ever discussed because of that
The fact that even though I may not have the same experience within the company or within life, they still listen to my thoughts and ideas.

The best part of the compensation package is the free gym memberships and 401K matching.
We have good benefits. Besides the regular benefits, veterans United gives us a lot of extra bonuses into our 401(k) which I really appreciate.
This health insurance is superior to my previous employer
I love the free gym membership
Including my family in the package.
Usually always on the tail-end of market ranges
benefits really are a farce
From day 1, I've always been surrounded by people who want to do their best and who care about the job. That's refreshing.
My team is compiled of a diverse group of people with the same goal: providing love and care for each other by being passionate, having fun, and being confident with integrity in their actions.
My team leader is the best 'boss' I have ever had in my life. She's amazing. They give team leaders a lot of leeway to leave their own way which can be really great, as is my situation, and can also be bad. She is hands-off results oriented and leaves a lot of room for a neuro typical styles.

The culture at Veterans United Home Loans is a culture of care. The employees truly care about the success of their peers and support their personal and professional goals. The company has a concierge desk that allows employees to send appreciation and care gifts to their fellow employees.
Everyone encourage each other to stay positive regardless of how incredibly stressed out we are. It helps but it doesn't make up for the fact that we are given way too much work and the pace is way too fast. I'm one of the best at my job but I can't do this forever. It's just too much.

We work as a family, not as coworkers
Its a fun place to work, we work hard and play hard.

Interviews are more casual and conversational.
I like that the interview process isn't formal. A majority of the interviews are an informal competition about the applicant. The interview focuses more on determining if the applicant's values align with the company's values, rather than their skills and previous employment found on their resume.
For me it was really easy and they didn't ask the normal stupid questions you get an interview that tell you nothing about someone in reality. But I've heard all sorts of different experiences. I've heard that the interview process is very difficult for some people
How simplistic it was for me.

The people and opportunities to connect!
Being surrounded by likeminded people who care for one another and the work that they are completing. It also is amazing to work for a company that truly values its employees as more than just a labor force.
I'm giving a lot of freedom. That's important to me and it makes a huge difference. That's basically why I'm still here even though the amount and the pace of work is unsustainable.
Honestly, everything about the company.
The fact that I'm getting paid
