It's an ok company. Leadership means well, but tends to be very authoritative and doesn't communicate much with the rest of the company. The work itself can be interesting, but teams don't always work together. Sometimes it feels like everything is made overly complicated.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Building a great culture and engaging the rest of the employees.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I think everyone on my team genuinely wants to do a good job, and tries to help when asked.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I've seen some really negative feedback from our service provider partners. I think we can do better in supporting them and get more coverage to meet SLAs
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
There is a lot of recognition in quarterly meetings and through our Kazoo platform. Not only is this nice, it's a good way to hear about what other teams are doing -- especially since communication is rather lacking otherwise.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Better work/life balance and autonomy -- namely, letting me work out my in office vs remote schedule with my manager; better PTO and holidays (we don't even get the day after Thanksgiving off!), and having a manager who actually has time to have 1:1s.
