Executive Bio

Lieutenant General Donald J. Wetekam, also known as Don, USAF has been Vice President of Government & Defense Business Development at AAR Corp., since June 2010. Mr. Wetekam is responsible for strengthening AAR's presence in government and defense markets as well as managing legislative engagement activities. He joined AAR in 2007 and led AAR's MRO operations encompassing four aircraft maintenance centers and a landing gear overhaul center that provides quality service for leading domestic and international airlines as well the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. Mr. Wetekam served as Group Vice President of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) segment of AAR Corp. since January 2008. Mr. Wetekam served as the President of AAR Services, Inc., at AAR Corp. He oversees all of AAR's MRO activities and be responsible for growing AAR Corp.'s domestic and international MRO business and expanding its offerings to government customers. He served as the President and General Manager of AAR Services, Inc. from August 2007 to January 2008. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff, Installations & Logistics with the U.S. Air Force and was a staunch advocate for the adoption of commercial process improvement techniques, such as Lean and Six Sigma. He also directed operations at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and played key leadership roles at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker Air Force Base. He has been the Chairman of AAR Airlift at AAR Corp. since December 23, 2016. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Army and Air Force Exchange Service. He is a member of the National Defense Business Institute of the University of Tennessee School of Business Administration and Chairman of the National Foundation for the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Georgia, the nation's fourth largest aviation museum. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a Master of Engineering Administration from the University of Utah and a master of national resource management from the National Defense University.
