Diversity and Inclusion at Adelphoi

Adelphoi provides services to a geographically and racially diverse population. An important component of our effectiveness is the degree to which our staff and the families we serve are able to relate to each other. As an organization whose mission is to serve marginalized communities, it is our responsibility to confront racism and inequality both within our organization and in the community. Moving forward, we are energized to bring about meaningful change, embracing what a diversity of voices will mean for Adelphoi’s organizational future as well as the positive impact it will have on the kids that we serve.

As part of this effort, we have launched a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force. This task force is leading the organization through the facilitation of activities designed to listen to and receive feedback from our employees, kids and staff and then develop recommendations that will determine the changes at the board, management and operations levels needed to develop a more culturally competent organization. The DEI Task Force is also working to help Adelphoi to define its role in the advocating for necessary changes required so our families and kids can better succeed within the environments and societal structures in which they live.

This initiative is an opportunity to strengthen Adelphoi as an organization. Encouraging diversity, equity and inclusion helps us to effectively create a culture of real connection and belonging, while also improving our talent pool, employee engagement and performance, alignment of purpose, and opportunities for innovation.
